Yard Sale Announcement Boxes

People advertise yard sales by writing address information on cardboard boxes and they place the boxes on street corners. The boxes typically have a couple large rocks in them to help keep the boxes from blowing away. For some reason, when their yard sale is over, they don't go back and pick up their boxes.

I have gotten in the habit of using the boxes to hold litter. Here is a box loaded with litter. It was loaded on Monday, 23 July 2002, but the picture was taken four days later on Friday, 26 July 2002. I left the box on the corner to see if anybody comes along and disposes of it. [Chances are a monsoon storm will do a good job distributing the box and its litter before a human-being decides to do something with it.] The box currently sits on the property of Desert Rose Church in Tempe.

[update] On Monday, 29 July 2002, at 8:30am, the box was still on the corner. But, by 11:00am, on Monday, 29 July 2002, the box was gone. Somebody picked it up. That somebody needs to be come a member of our Litter Patrol.
