Political Sign Escapades

On Tuesday, 29 October 2002, the Litter Patrol had a busy day with respect to political signs.

Craperek's Signs Get Tall

The City of Tempe should place a limit on how tall a political sign can be. Craperek -- our Queen of Political Signs -- has the tallest signs in town. When will the other politicians follow her lead?

Palm Trees Make Good Sign Holders

If this isn't an abuse of Mother Nature, then I'm clueless as to what is. Here are a couple of political signs being propped up by three beautiful palm trees.

Does Bitchell Care?

According to a couple of people who work for Care Stone, they had know idea that they were supporting Harry Bitchell. [Note: the Care Stone is not supporting Bitchell, nor did Bitchell contact the Care Stone about placing a sign on their nicely landscaped corner. The Care Stone granted me verbal permission to contact Bitchell concering the sign.]

Dial-a-Bitch at (480) 730-8714

For many weeks the NE corner of McClintock and Baseline was littered with political signs. This corner is maintained by US Bank. One day all the signs were gone and according to a US Bank employee, the signs were taken down at the request of the bank. Today, 29 October 2002, this Mark Flopson political sign was found littering the corner. A call to the Flopson campaign resulted in a nasty phone conversation with a secretary who claims US Bank did not contact them and that the political signs were taken down -- without permission -- by the idiots who do the landscaping. [Note: she may not have used the word idiots, but the meaning was implied.]

Flopson has been named King of Political Signs.
