I drove to Rice, California, to see the burned Tamarisk Shoe Tree. Although litter in this area is less than previous visits, a USLitter Alert remains in effect.
USLitter.org decided to rescue a littered bush. In the process of doing so, it found a dollar. One small bush was holding onto two bags of litter.
The Tamarisk Shoe Tree is a couple of miles east of Rice, California. Nobody lives in Rice anymore and that probably made it easy for somebody to dump a dirty diaper along the side of CA Hwy-62.
US Hwy-95 offers many scenic views of the Colorado River; however, those places were people stop and play always seem be become litter dumps.
