The Tamarisk Shoe Tree is located in the Colorado Desert/Rice Valley located in south-west California. The tree is approximately 229 miles from Tempe, Arizona. The Tamarisk Shoe Tree has a litter problem and on 11 November 2002 (Veterans Day) the USLitter Patrol visited the tree to pick-up litter.

USLitter.org Alert for the Tamarisk Shoe Tree Remains in Effect
Although 5 bags of litter were picked-up over the span of 90 minutes, lots of litter remains. There are numerous spots along CA Hwy-62 that require a visit from the Litter Patrol. I am anticipating a return visit sometime during January of 2003. Arrive at 10:00am and stay until 5:00pm. Spend the night in either Parker or Blythe.
Here is a question that needs to be addressed prior to taking further action on this alert: How do we take away all the litter we pick up?

An AzLitter.org Alert was issued on Ave 75E. The I-10 off/on ramps at this location are for trucks hauling stuff out from nowhere [note: the garbage can in this picture is full]. This ramp has a serious litter problem ( another picture). The USLitter Patrol picked up two bags of litter from this spot, yet lots of litter of left behind.
